Large Language Artificial Intelligence (AI) is a groundbreaking technology with the potential to profoundly impact humanity. We believe there is a moral imperative to use it for the benefit of the underprivileged. It’s crucial to establish a benevolent, transparent organization to develop, study, and monitor the progress of AI in the field of education.
The mission of the non-profit U4E, through its AI-powered platform at U4Education.com, is to harness this technology responsibly, with a special focus on supporting underserved communities in Africa and Latin America.

Peter Johnsis to foster partnerships with 10 foundations dedicated to enhancing education for underprivileged individuals and communities. We are seeking a $500,000 contribution from each foundation, which will provide the right to appoint a member to the U4E board of 11
These initial funds will enable us to establish a foundation office in Cape Town, South Africa. Our team will begin with graduate students specializing in education, starting with a focused approach to understand how AI best supports learning now and what advancements are required for broader adoption. Key questions include: What would it cost for each student to have an AI assistant? How can AI truly enrich the current educational experience? And most importantly, when will AI be safe and effective for our children?
The U4Education.com platform, fully owned by the nonprofit U4E is a complete educational system, allowing teachers to create curriculum, assessments, and video lectures for a comprehensive learning journey.
However, AI’s current capabilities fall short of our expectations. With limitations on memory retention per child, and concerns over accuracy, the technology is not yet fully equipped to meet our high standards.
Our vision is to establish a cost-effective research and development center to explore where AI can immediately contribute to education and expand as the technology matures. Our platform is currently designed as an independent school and is developing a way for schools to develop their own programs. We use ChatGPT for now, but the platform can seamlessly integrate other AI models.
We sincerely believe we stand at the threshold of “Pure Philanthropy” where foundations only pay for knowledge taught. A time where children from any background can learn subjects from math to farming.
